There is one practice that has created more transformation in my life than almost anything else. It changed what was possible for my son’s healing and the way I walked through his journey.
It changed my marriage.
It changed the way I mother.
It changed all layers of possibility in my family.
It changed the way I built ōNLē before I even knew I was building a business.
And it’s so simple it almost feels ridiculous. It’s the practice of speaking what you desire as if it already exists. I know. It sounds too simple. But I’m telling you, this practice has completely changed every part of my life. This isn’t about pretending. Or bypassing what’s hard. It’s definitely not ignoring symptoms or ignoring the real-life things happening right in front of us.
This is about your words becoming a place your brain, your body, and your nervous system begin to recognize as safe. And when something begins to feel safe, you can start moving toward it. Because this is an essential part of healing that so often gets overlooked: teaching your body how to feel safe inside the reality you’re asking it to move toward.
This is the practice of affirmation.
The way I use affirmation is very simple. “I am so happy that…”
I am so happy that my body is healing.
I am so happy that my child is sleeping peacefully.
I am so happy that my digestion feels calm and steady.
I am so happy that our home feels peaceful.
I am so happy that I know the next right step.
That’s it. It’s not complicated. But it is powerful.
And the key here is that you’re not begging for something to happen. You’re not saying it out of desperation. You’re not pleading for something to happen. You’re practicing the feeling of it already being present in your life. You’re allowing your body to rehearse the reality before the reality is fully here.
The first time this practice became real for me was when I was healing my son. I was at my rock bottom. I had lost hope. I didn’t have some beautiful, grounded, peaceful mindset practice at that point. I wasn’t floating around feeling enlightened.
I was scared. I felt alone. And I had gone to every kind of healthcare professional I knew to go to, every kind from traditional pediatricians and allergists to ayurvedic doctors and functional medicine practitioners. And still, no one had answers.
I had nothing left to hold on to. I started walking and saying out loud to myself…
I am so happy my son is healthy.
I am so happy my son’s skin is clear.
I am so happy my son is sleeping all night.
I am so happy my son is thriving.
And at the time, those things were very much not my visible reality. I couldn’t see them yet. But I said them anyway. And little by little, every single one of those things became true. And more.
His health transformed.
His skin became smooth.
He started sleeping all night for the first time in his life.
He started thriving.
And when I look back now, I can see that those words were carving a path. They were expanding what I was looking for. They were expanding what I believed was possible. They helped me stop only scanning for what was wrong and start noticing what could support his healing. They made his wellness feel less foreign to my body. And that’s such a big piece of this.
Sometimes the thing we deeply desire feels unfamiliar. Even when it’s good. Even when it’s what we want more than anything.
If your body has been living in fear, stress, symptoms, uncertainty, diagnosis, reactions, flare-ups, sleepless nights… then peace can actually feel unfamiliar. Healing can feel unfamiliar. A calm body can feel unfamiliar. A thriving child can feel unfamiliar.
Affirmation gives your brain and your nervous system a place to practice that reality before it’s fully here. And there’s actually a scientific reason this works.
When you repeat a desire in the present tense, “I am so happy that…”, you’re doing more than saying nice words. You are giving your brain a new image to organize around. Your brain is always scanning for evidence. It’s always filtering the world based on what it believes is familiar, possible, safe, and expected.
So when you repeatedly speak something as if it already belongs in your life, you begin to normalize that reality in your mind and in your nervous system.
Your body starts to become familiar with the feeling of it. Your brain starts to notice opportunities, resources, conversations, next steps, tiny moments of evidence that it may have missed before. And your nervous system begins to practice safety around something new. That part is so important.
Because sometimes the thing we desire is not just something we need to work toward. It’s something we need to become available for.
We have to be able to hold it.
We have to be able to receive it.
We have to be able to recognize it when it comes.
Affirmation helps you do that. It prepares you.
This is very different from gripping for control. You’re not forcing the outcome. You’re preparing yourself to receive it.
One part of this that I want to be upfront with you about is that in my experience, it almost never unfolds exactly the way I planned. It’s usually better. Wider. More surprising. More beautiful than what I could have controlled.
But the affirmation creates momentum. It creates direction. It creates this inner knowing where, eventually, there becomes no other option than walking toward the reality you’ve been speaking.
And when you’re on a healing journey, whether for yourself or your child, your nervous system is incredibly important to acknowledge.
The way you speak to your body matters.
The way you imagine healing matters.
The way you hold what’s possible matters.
Because healing isn’t just about what you take. It’s also about the environment your body is healing inside of. And yes, that includes the practical things. It includes preparing your drainage pathways. It includes taking the supplements. It includes avoiding the foods that are feeding the bad overgrowths you’re working to clear. Those pieces of course really matter.
But if your body is trying to heal inside a constant state of fear, panic, hopelessness, and “what if this never gets better?” - that significantly matters.
Your nervous system is part of the healing environment.
Your words are part of the healing environment.
Your beliefs are part of the healing environment.
And this is exactly why, inside the course that comes free with the Gut Rebalance Kit and the Symptom Specific Bundles, I don’t only walk you through the practical pieces of gut healing.
I walk you through how to support your body while also supporting the part of you that has been scared, exhausted, and bracing for the next symptom. Because your body isn’t just asking for a protocol.
It’s asking for safety.
It’s asking for consistency.
It’s asking for a new expectation.
And affirmation is one way we begin to give the body that. And I think once you really understand that, you start seeing it everywhere. You start seeing that healing isn’t happening in separate compartments. The physical isn’t over here. The emotional isn’t over here. The mindset isn’t somewhere else entirely.
Your body is experiencing all of it.
Your body is living inside the environment of your words, your stress, your fear, your hope, your beliefs, your choices, your nourishment, your home. It’s all beautifully connected.
And I saw that first with my son. And then I started seeing it everywhere. After I experienced healing in my son, I started saying…
“I am so happy I get to share this healing with other families.”
“I am so happy other children get to experience this healing”
“I am so happy other mothers feel hope again.”
And I need you to understand, I was saying that before there was even the idea of a business. Before I partnered with naturopaths, scientists and manufactures to create the supplements. I never dreamed of being a business owner. I didn’t know I was an entrepreneur.
This was not the life I had pictured for myself.
But I started affirming the desire before I even understood what the desire was becoming. And then I had a literal dream. I saw the supplements. I saw the community of families healing. I saw what this could become. And I don’t say that lightly. But I’m telling you, affirmation created room in my life for a vision I didn’t even know how to ask for yet.
It created spaciousness.
It created openness.
It made me available for something that was bigger than the version of life I had previously imagined. And that’s what I’ve seen over and over again.
Affirmation doesn’t always give you the exact thing in the exact way you pictured it. It does something better. It opens a path. It shifts your attention. It expands what you believe is possible. It changes the energy you’re carrying into your decisions. It gives your body a preview of what you’re walking toward.
And then, you start to move differently. You start to notice differently. You start to choose differently.
The last bit that I want to leave you with is how far and wide this practice can be used.
Every morning when my family sits down for breakfast, we say our affirmations out loud to each other. And I really believe there is something powerful about speaking your desire out loud in front of people who love you.
It makes it bigger.
It makes it witnessed.
It makes it feel less like a private wish and more like something your family gets to hold with you.
And I can’t even fully explain this, but from the smallest things to the biggest things, I have watched my children affirm something before it was here, and then watched it become part of their reality.
Little things.
Big things.
Experiences.
Opportunities.
Desires they were specific about.
Things that seemed almost impossible or completely random.
And over and over again, I’ve watched this practice teach them something I wish every child knew... Their words are really powerful. Their desires, dreams and feelings matter.
And the more we do it, the more our life starts to feel like it’s in conversation with us. That doesn’t mean affirmation is passive. It’s not sitting on your couch saying words and waiting for life to change around you. It’s active. It’s participatory. It changes the way you see. It changes the way you move. It changes the way you make decisions. It changes the way you respond to opportunity.
It creates momentum because your mind, your body, your nervous system, and your actions start lining up with the thing you’re speaking. And maybe for you, this isn’t about a big life vision.
Maybe right now it’s…
“I am so happy my child’s feels comfortable in their body.”
“I am so happy we made it through dinner without a fight.”
“I am so happy my child is sleeping through the night.”
“I am so happy my poops feel consistent and healthy.”
“I am so happy I trust my body again.”
“I am so happy I know how to support my family’s health.”
“I am so happy my child is thriving.”
And I want you to hear me. This does not mean you deny what’s real today. It does not mean you pretend the symptoms aren’t there. It doesn’t mean you ignore the hard things. It means you stop letting today’s symptoms be the only voice in the room.
You allow healing to have a voice too.
You allow hope to have a voice.
You allow the future you’re walking toward to speak back into the present.
And I can promise you, this simple practice will change everything.
