How to Take Your ōnlē Supplements Without Overcomplicating It | 203

Welcome to the Follow Your Gut podcast. I'm your host, Juniper.
Over the last couple weeks, it's come to my attention that there's a bit of confusion around the rigidity of rebalancing and maintaining your microbiome balance. So in this episode, I want to break this down for you so that you can see just how simple rebalancing really gets to be. We tend to overcomplicate things as a way for our subconscious self to talk us out of doing the very things that are going to absolutely transform our lives. And rebalancing is no different.
I want to start by sharing this story that really represents what rebalancing is and what it's not.
So I recently went to this yoga class and it started by the teacher asking, so what kind of music are you guys all up for today? Like, do you want more soulful? We could do some more acoustic, we could do more meditative, or I mean we could even do rap. And everybody just kind of looks at each other, nobody answers. She's like, okay, I guess I'll pick the music. And then she's like, Now, what are you guys feeling today? Like, do you want we could make our whole practice about like really moving the hips or your upper body? We could really do full body. What do you guys all want today? What do you want out of this practice? I almost got up and left because I didn't sign up for a very specific yoga class to go in there and have to make more decisions. I signed up for this class because I wanted to be guided through a practice. I don't want to have to think about what music. Turn on the music, guide the class. I could have done if I if I wanted to pick the music, if I wanted to pick a specific area of my body that I wanted to hyper focus on, I would have done my own practice. I signed up for this class because I wanted to be guided through something and not have to make all the decisions.
Which is exactly what rebalancing is. It is a proven guided protocol that has healed thousands and thousands of women and children around the world.
But there's nuance in being a guided protocol. It isn't rigid. There's a difference between rebalancing and using these natural holistic supplements and a pharmaceutical prescription.
So I wanna break rebalancing down and talk about what those nuances are, relate it back to a yoga practice, and help you establish an understanding of these supplements so that you leave this episode knowing that consistency is the most important thing.
So rebalancing is broken down into two phases. The first four days, so days one through four, are the superstart phase. Day five to sixty four are the consistency is key phase. No matter how many rounds of rebalancing you do, you will follow this. So if you are doing another 64 day immediately after completing one, you'll start over with the super start dose for four days and then move into the consistency is key. If you are doing the 128-day experience on day 65, you're gonna go back to that superstart for the for four days. So day 65 through 69 is gonna be the superstart, and then day 70 to 128 is gonna be the consistency is key.
Here's where there is nuance. These dosages, the superstart dose and the consistency is key dose. This is your baseline. So you are gonna follow your body. You are gonna follow your child's body. You know your body best. You know your child's body better than anyone in the world.
This is a really beautiful opportunity for you to become really attuned with what your intuition is telling you and listen. Again, the superstart dose, the consistency is key dose, that's the baseline. You can build from there. If you are experiencing a pretty significant release phase, go back to the superstart dose. Stay at that until your body feels like it's moving forward. Then go back to the consistency is key.
Let me just lay out the difference here for you. So the superstar is two tablespoons of cleanse twice a day.
For adults, for children, it's one tablespoon twice a day of cleanse. All of the other supplements, nourish, bind, remineralize, all three of those stay exactly the same throughout your entire rebalance.
Cleanse is the only one that's changing. But if you find that the release phase is pretty hard for you or hard for your child, take bind and remineralize twice a day with your cleanse and nourish that you're already taking twice a day. You cannot take too much of these supplements. If you experience the onset of a cold or maybe you get COVID again or you get the flu or your child gets strep throat, go back to that superstart dose and stay there until the body is on the mend.
We have many people who stay at the superstart dose throughout their entire rebalance. You cannot take too much cleanse. The only reason that I change it between the superstart and the consistency is key is that it's such an effective supplement. You actually you don't need more than the two teaspoons that is in the consistency is key phase. You don't, your child doesn't need more than one teaspoon twice a day. In the consistency is key phase, unless if the body is put under extra stress, unless if the immune system becomes extra compromised. Those are times when you can trust yourself, you can let yourself be your guide, and you can take cleanse up a little bit.
This is where it becomes like a yoga practice. My favorite kind of yoga practice. Not like the class that I went to that I just shared with you.
My favorite kind of yoga class is when I show up and the teacher is like, here's what we're doing today. The music is already playing. We don't even have a conversation about the music. We don't have a conversation about what we're focusing on. She already has a plan and I'm there to follow her plan.
The framework of rebalancing is that yoga class for you. From there, within that framework, the teacher might say, if you want to take this posture deeper, go for it. If you're not feeling it today and you don't want to go as deep, hold off a little bit.
My invitation for you and your rebalance is to approach it exactly like that. Follow your body's lead, follow your child's body. Trust that you actually, you do know what you're doing, the most important thing for you to understand is consistency. We are asked all the time: should I take these supplements on an empty stomach? Should I take it before I eat, after I eat, should I take it right before bed or a couple hours before bed?
The truth is it doesn't matter.
It's important to take the supplements twice a day, spread out, so they have time and spaciousness to do their work in your body, to clear the bad bacteria, yeast, mold, fungus, parasites, to bind them, to help you eliminate them, to remineralize your body, to restore your microbiome.
But it doesn't have to be this rigid, this is exactly how you have to do it. This is what makes rebalancing a very holistic healing. It is not a pharmaceutical prescription. So you can take it with your other vitamins, with your multivitamins, with your magnesium, with your iron, whatever vitamins you're taking, it doesn't matter.
I invite you to habit stack. So if you do take other supplements whether you're doing that in the morning or in the evening, that's when you should take your morning or your evening dose. I'm more than happy to share what my family does for inspiration, but this is not the only right way.
When we are rebalancing, we take our morning supplements with breakfast. We keep them in the kitchen and we take them with breakfast. So when rebalancing, this looks like cleanse, nourish, bind, and remineralize all together at breakfast.
If you want to take it a while before eating, if you want to take it after you eat, if you want to take it while you're brushing your teeth, whatever you want, however you want to do it in the morning is beautiful. Just do it consistently.
The way that my family likes taking these supplements is we put bind and remineralize in one happy gut glass. We put cleanse in another, and we drink the little shot of bind and remineralize. Then we put the nourish capsule in our mouth. We take our little shot of cleanse, we swish it around, gargle it, really maximize all the benefits of cleanse. And then we swallow the nourish capsule while we swallow cleanse.
This is what works beautiful for us, but again, there is no wrong way to do it when I was rebalancing my fourth, he was four months old. So I would give him the supplements in a syringe. I would open the nourish capsule, let it dissolve and cleanse, and then I put all of it together in one syringe so that I just had to give him one dose.
There's a lot of people that like mixing all four in the happy gut glass and just taking one, one quick drink. We have others who maybe their children are extremely sensitive, and so they are using the syringe and then following up with something that maybe their child really looks forward to. Get creative. Invite your children if they're a little bit, you know, toddlers, they love magic potions. Young children love magic potions. Make their potions.
Talk about what these supplements are doing in their body, how they're making them stronger and healthier and feel good and sleep good. And talk about what's happening, what these supplements are doing, why they're taking them.
There are some families that have found it's easiest to blend the supplements into a small smoothie, just making sure that your child or you, if you're taking it, drink the entire smoothie so you're getting all of the supplements. Some people mix them into applesauce or you know, we have some families who get a juice and it's their special, it's their child's favorite juice, and it's reserved only for taking the supplements, and they mix the supplements into a small glass of the juice, and it's like this special thing that their child looks forward to. Get creative, do what works for you. There is no wrong way to do it. Consistency is the only thing that matters.
And then during times of need, adjust how much cleanse you're taking. Use the superstar, and the consistency is key as your framework, but take more if needed.
When my family is rebalancing for our evening supplements, we do it after we brush our teeth, again, we just keep our supplements in the kitchen. So at night we will take our cleanse and our nourish. It's really that easy.
We aren't rebalancing right now. We spend a lot of time rebalancing our whole family and establishing our balance and our body's baseline. And now we are really focused on our maintenance.
So what our maintenance supplement routine looks like is we don't take anything in the morning, but at night after dinner when we're brushing our teeth, we just have our things. You know, we get our pajamas on, we brush our teeth, we take our supplements. That's our bedtime routine before we go read.
So at night we're taking cleanse, nourish, bind, and remineralize, just as I shared before. Bind and remineralize in one happy gut glass, cleanse in another take the bind and remineralize shot, pop in nourish, take the little cleanse drink, swish it, gargle it, swallow. That's it. It's so easy. It's it's just part of what life is. We also take balanced CBD every day. So after we have swished, gargled and swallowed cleanse, we let balance sit under our tongue for about 30 seconds.
Okay, so really quickly, let's talk about times when it would be a good idea to rebalance again. So when my family had COVID, we all rebalanced again. My husband broke his leg and needed emergency surgery. As soon as he got home from the hospital, we he rebalanced. If you are in a situation where you absolutely need antibiotics, you want to rebalance again starting immediately after the antibiotics are done.
If you are planning a big move, think about if like if you are moving cities, you are going to be exposed to a completely different microbiome environment. Your water is going to be different, your food, the air outside, the air in your home, it's all going to be different. This is another time that I would proactively rebalance.
My recommendation is to rebalance any time that your body experiences dramatic change or significant stress, whether that's immune stress or physical stress, that is a very good time to rebalance.
Really quickly, I want to share when my family, we're not doing another full rebalance, but we're just adjusting how much of the supplement we're taking. So if my kit like if one of my kids comes home and has a stuffy nose, I put all of us at the superstart dose of cleanse. We will take cleanse and nourish twice a day for a few days to help support our bodies through the illness and nine times out of tenth my child who came home with a stuffy nose, their stuffy nose goes away and none of the rest of us get sick.
In a few months we're planning to travel to Europe. We will do the same. We will take the superstart dose of cleanse and take even though we're maintaining, we will take cleanse and nourish twice a day versus our maintenance once a day for the duration of our travels because we are going to be experiencing a lot of exposure in the airport and we're gonna be breathing different air and touching different things and our exposure is heightened. And so as a way to, you know, and not only that, but our schedule is going to be altered. The every part of our foundational health is going to be different than when we are at home. Our food, our water, the air, our sleep schedules our exposure, all of that is going to be different. And so I'm proactively going to be ahead of all of that by giving my whole family the superstart dose a few days before we go, throughout our travels, and a few days after we get home.
Other times that I do this, you know, my my daughter goes to an independent high school. So a few days before she started school, we did this just to help support her body ease into school.
If there's ever a time where my child complains of their ear hurting, we'll use cleanse in their ear, but also increase their cleanse to the superstart dose and take cleanse and nourish again twice a day. And then we just go back to our maintenance of two teaspoons for me and Ty, one teaspoon for my kids, of cleanse at night And it's really that simple. You it doesn't have to be this rigid, complicated process where you can you have to take it at an exact certain time of day and it has to be on an empty stomach or on a full stomach.
These supplements are designed to be very adaptable for you, for your healing.
The part that is important is consistency. So establish the baseline, learn and understand the superstart dose, and the consistency is key, and then listen to your body. Stay attuned to your intuition.
These supplements support you. Don't let them don't let your mind overcomplicate what they are and make it this unattainable thing that you that you can't do, that you can't fit into your life. Literally anyone anywhere can fit this in. It takes 10 seconds. Attach it to something that you're already doing. Habit stacking is the easiest way to allow rebalancing and maintaining to become another habit?
You make your rebalance work for you.
I also really want to invite you to see rebalancing through a different lens. We are so conditioned to have rigid instructions externally, so much so that that's where we're finding our safety. We find safety in knowing that we're doing something right by someone else's expectation. When really a big part of rebalancing is shifting where you are finding safety from.
I want you to understand the baseline of rebalancing, the framework of it, absolutely. And from there, I want to really invite you to become very attuned to your intuition and trusting what you know and letting yourself find safety from within because you know exactly what to do. Not because anyone else is telling you exactly what to do. You know.
Alright my friend, thank you for being here with me. I'm proud of you. Keep going. Whether you are rebalancing or maintaining, you are doing amazing.
