Welcome to the Follow Your Gut podcast. I'm your host, Juniper.
Today I am answering the question that I receive some form of every single day. Should I wait? Should I wait until we move out of the mold? Should I wait until after our vacation? Should I wait until my child gets over a strep throat? Should I wait until life is less busy? Should I wait until I can follow everything perfectly?
I receive a version of this question every single day. And if what you're waiting for is the perfect time to begin, my answer is no. Stop waiting. The perfect window isn't coming. There will always be another vacation, another holiday, another birthday, another illness, another difficult week, another season of transition. This is life. This is motherhood.
There's always going to be another reason. Beginning next month feels easier than beginning today. But waiting doesn't prepare your or your child's body to heal. In fact, waiting prolongs the amount of time the body remains unsupported.
I want to go a little bit deeper and I want to help you understand the belief that's underneath this question, should I wait?
You believe that your body or your child's body needs life to become calmer before it can begin healing. You believe you need to remove every stressor, create the perfect schedule, prepare every meal, understand every part of the process, and know that nothing unexpected is coming. Then you'll begin. But this isn't real life, and you will keep waiting forever.
Your body is constantly responding to food, to sleep, stress, infections, environmental exposures, travel, hormones, medications, growth, and life. Healing isn't something that we reserve for the moment when none of those things are happening. No, healing is how we support the body through all of it.
I want you to imagine you are preparing to walk a really long, difficult trail.
The ground is uneven, it's raining, you know parts of the trail will be muddy, and you know the walk ahead. It's going to require more from your body than any ordinary day.
Would you wait until you reached the end of the trail to put on your supportive shoes? Of course not. You would put them on before you began walking because the difficulty of the trail is exactly why your body needs support while you're walking it.
This is what I want you to understand about rebalancing. If your family is still living in a moldy environment while you prepare to move or remediate, supporting your body or your child's body while you're still in the mold is really, really important. The fact that your body is moving through an ongoing exposure isn't a reason to leave it unsupported. I get asked this question multiple times a week. We are still in this moldy environment. Should we wait until we leave? This is the reason foundational support matters so much right now.
Rebalancing supports the body in clearing harmful overgrowths, binding and eliminating what's being released, replenishing beneficial bacteria, and restoring the minerals your body needs throughout the process. You don't need to wait until your body has made it through the hardest part before you begin giving it the support that helps it move through the hardest part.
If your child has strep throat or an ear infection or a stomach bug or another illness, this is an evidence that their body should wait to receive foundational support. It tells you that their immune system is compromised and working really hard right now, and it needs more support right now.
Rebalancing doesn't replace any immediate medical care that your child needs, but it supports the gut microbiome and the immune foundation while their body moves through the illness and beyond it. Because the goal isn't simply to get through this one infection or one symptom. The goal is to strengthen the entire internal environment connected to why infections keep gaining traction in the first place. If you're leaving for a vacation, do you need to postpone healing? Until you return? No. Vacation is life, holidays are life, school is life, birthdays, sports, restaurants, travel days, imperfect meals, poor nights of sleep, and unexpected changes are all part of real life.
If your healing process can only exist inside a perfectly controlled routine, your expectations have already set you up to never be able to heal. The ōNLē rebalance method was created to support your body inside your real life, inside your human life.
The course that comes with your method teaches you how to prepare what matters most, how to make aligned food choices, and how to continue when every day doesn't look exactly the same. Perfection isn't the magic. Momentum is.
I want you to think about exercise. The first time you go for a run or you lift a weight or you get back on your bike after time away, it feels harder than you want it to. Your breath is labored, your muscles get tired quickly, your body hasn't yet built the capacity to do what you're asking it to do. But then you do it again and again. The workout that once exhausted you becomes your warm-up. The distance that once felt impossible becomes normal, not because you waited until you were already strong enough. You became strong enough by beginning. Momentum is what builds the capacity. This is true for every part of our life. The hardest walk is the one you haven't started taking. The hardest routine is the one you keep planning but never begin. The hardest decision is the one you continue reopening every morning.
Once you begin, you stop using all of your energy to decide whether you're ready. That energy becomes available for the process itself. This is what happens with rebalancing. The first day creates the second day. The second day creates the first week. The first week begins teaching you what the process actually looks like inside your family.
You begin learning the foods. The supplements become part of your daily rhythm. You stop questioning every decision. You start noticing the first changes. Maybe your child has healthier poops. Maybe they sleep better at night. Maybe you realize the rash is fading. Maybe your own energy begins returning. Maybe everyone makes it through a situation that used to completely overwhelm your family. Those changes strengthen your trust. Your trust makes consistency easier. Your consistency creates more momentum. And that momentum gives the body the uninterrupted support it needs to keep moving toward balance. This is why starting and stopping makes healing so much harder. Every time you stop because life becomes imperfect, you lose the rhythm you were building. You return to questioning. To researching, you return to deciding whether now is finally the right time to restart. And you ask your body to begin again instead of allowing it to continue. You don't need another fresh start. You need continuity.
This is one of the reasons we created our brand new 128-day rebalance experience. It's for the woman who's done allowing every interruption to become a reason to stop. She knows the birthdays will happen, illness will happen, travel will happen, hard days will come, and she's ready to build the capacity to continue through all of it.
The products arrive every 30 days, so there's no interruption in the method. You have the ōNLě method course to guide the process. You have your healing companion when you need help finding supportive information. You have assessments that allow you to step back and see the progress that's difficult to recognize when you're living inside of it every day. You have a place to submit questions and receive supportive answers. And you receive daily voice notes from me that meet you where you are and help you stay connected to the process.
The support isn't there because we believe you are incapable of leading your healing. It's there to help you build the magic of momentum until leading it becomes part of who you are. Building capacity is not something you wait to have before you begin. Capacity is something you build by starting and continuing.
I want you to think about the thing you're currently waiting for. Are you waiting to move? Waiting for the holidays to pass, waiting for school to start, waiting until your child is no longer sick, waiting until work calms down, waiting until you've read every page, listened to every episode, and know exactly how this is going to unfold.
Now ask yourself what weighting is actually giving you. Is it changing the internal environment that's creating symptoms? Is it supporting the immune system? Is it building your confidence? Is it creating momentum? Or is it simply giving the imbalance more time to grow?
There will never be a perfect day when your calendar is empty, your child is symptom-free, every meal is planned, your home is perfect, everyone slept beautifully, and you feel completely certain about every step ahead.
That's not the day healing begins. Healing begins the day you decide you are no longer going to wait for perfect conditions. It begins when you choose the method that's designed for you or your child. It begins when the first dose becomes the second dose. It deepens when consistency becomes momentum. And it transforms when that momentum becomes a new way of living.
You don't need to know exactly how every day is going to go. You just need to begin. So stop waiting for life to clear the path. Put on the supportive shoes. Start walking. Your strength, your confidence, and your capacity will be built along the way.
